This day was a day of MANY MANY firsts for me: first time meeting Gaston, first time riding new rides, first time seeing Wishes, first time eating a Churro, first time eating a Dole whip, first time wearing Mickey/Minnie ears...AHH I love my life!!
First we met Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. I didn't get a picture with him because he was a little intimidating to me haha the other girls did and they were at a loss for words the entire time they were around him! One girl said "Gaston, what's up?" and his reponse (without hesitiation) was, "Besides my biceps and your heart rate?" Oh yea, he's good.
After we left Gaston, we went to buy some new Minnie Mouse ears (because who doesn't need a new pair?).
Here I am wearing my brand new ears!
We decided to go stand in the stand-by line for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride. It was a 75-minute wait :( but the queue is interactive in some parts, so it cuts down on the boring-ness of waiting. There's touch screens where you can place gems in buckets, water spouts that place music and empty out water when you place your hands underneath the animals, and there are giant buckets of rubies, diamonds, emeralds, etc. that you can spin to make the 7 dwarfs appear on the ceiling. The only downside to these interactive parts is that people want to play and not move up in the line, so it holds everyone else up.
Here's a few pictures I took before, during (yes, during), and after!!!
BEFORE:
DURING:
This is an actual shadow that looks like it came straight from the movie when the dwarfs are on their way home! It's so adorable!!!
AFTER:
Snow dancing with the dwarfs in their cabin
You can't really see her, but the witch was just on the other side of the door and it freaked us all out! HaHa!
The adorable 7 Dwarfs cabin that you pass as you're exiting the ride!
So that was the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train ride!
One of the girls I was with was determined for everyone to try a Dole whip. I will admit, I've been waiting to try one since I got accepted into the program. Basically it's just Pineapple-flavored soft serve, but it is SOOOO good!!!! I didn't buy one, I just had a taste of someone else's. But then the people serving us got my friend's order mixed up so she got a free Dole whip, and she gave it to me! It was AMAZING!!!
I also had a Churro, which wasn't as good as I was hoping. I think I need to eat one fresh from the oven (or the fryer?) next time!
We also rode Big Thunder Mountain as it was getting darker. It was SO neat! I don't know if I'll ever ride it again in the daytime!
We watched a little bit of the Electrical Parade, and then headed over to watch the Fireworks. Some of my roommates had decided to come to Magic Kingdom to see the fireworks and ride a few rides, so I went ahead and met up with them. We watched Wishes:
My favorite!
After Wishes, we decided to go ride some rides!
We first rode the Carousel
Then we rode The Haunted Mansion (it was too dark outside to take any pictures, both inside AND outside...plus the 999 happy haunts don't like flash photography).
We rode The Little Mermaid ride. It's set up just like Haunted Mansion, but instead of riding in Doom Buggies, you ride in Clam Shells.
They turn you backwards when you first come in so it's like your falling into the ocean waves
We saw Ariel and Flounder dancing in the rays of the sun under water
Here are some more pictures from the ride (I also took some videos, but they're not showing up on here for some reason right now, so I'll post them later!):
All the fishys dancing "Under the Sea"
Flounder unwillingly dancing with another fish
Flotsom and Jetsom, Urusula's eels
...And they all lived happily every after!
I rode Mine Train one more time with my roomies, and by the time we got off the ride, it was time for Magic Kingdom to close for the night. Thank goodness because my knees and feet were so swollen from walking around all day!!! I needed a shower and my warm bed! I had such an amazing time at Magic Kingdom with both my new friends and my roommates!
Oh and my mom wanted me to show everyone a close-up of my Mickey Mouse ears:
