A World Without Fences, Where I Can Run Free... (Lady and the Tramp)

Guys, I am SO sorry that I haven't posted in a while! I have been super busy training with my work and hanging out at the parks on my days off! Let's catch you up with all the things that I've been up to, shall we?

Alright...so last time we spoke (well, I typed and you read), I told you all about my work costume (aka uniform). Well, that definitely hasn't changed haha I'm still wearing the Newsie style hat and fabulous apron.

What HAS changed is my training! I have trained two days in Expo. Expo is just where we tray up the food that has been ordered by guests and then prepared by the chefs. Super simple (at least for me since I do that at Olive Garden at home sometimes).

And then there's the cash register........

Let me just say that whoever designed the Contempo Cafe didn't exactly think everything through.

First, the guests are prompted to order via the touch screen kiosks located against the far wall of our restaurant (to the right as soon as you walk inside). Some families don't realize that you can order everyone's meals on ONE kiosk, so they decide to order all individual meals on different kiosks. This is fine and dandy....until they come to the register to pay.

When they come to the register to pay for 2+ meals, and they hand me 2+ pieces of paper that the kiosks printed off for them, I can only scan ONE of them and then punch in everything else....which in turn completely defeats the purpose of the kiosks in the first place.

Also, another problem with the kiosks. They don't allow guests to add or remove items from what they are ordering. For example, if I am ordering a Turkey BLT (which is AMAZING, by the way!) and I don't want the tomato, the kiosk doesn't give me the option to ask for no tomato. I am supposed to automatically know to take my receipt to the cast member standing by the counter and tell them that I want no tomato so they can yell into the kitchen at the chefs so they make it correctly. Makes zero sense, right? Yeah, I know haha.a

THEN there's the Dining Plans. Thankfully they're not as hard to figure out as I had anticipated. BUT, before I can scan or punch anything into the computer, I have to make sure that each person in a party that is on the dining plan has everything they need. Every adult on a dining plan must pick up a dessert and a drink. Kid's meals come with their desserts and drinks, so they don't have to worry about those. BUUUUT some parents think that because they ordered a cookie for their child's meal that they have to get one of the giant cookies out of the bakery case. This isn't true. The children's cookie comes out with their meal.

Like I said, there are a few kinks, but they've survived this long! They must be doing something right!

Now, to finally get down to the part that is the reason for why I named this post what I named it (does that sentence make any sense?? Because writing it made it seem extremely complicated! haha)

On Friday, my room roommate (the one I share a room with), Justine, and I decided to venture to EPCOT to ride some rides and tour the World Showcase.

We had so much fun seeing all of the different countries that are represented there. I took a few pictures to share with you guys!

Mexico
Norway
More of Norway
China
Germany
One of my favorites, Italy
More of Italy
Japan
Morocco
France
United Kingdom

I didn't get pictures of the good ol' US of A (I figured the majority of you who read this would know what that looks like), nor did I get Canada, but that's okay! I have tons of time to get pictures of them to share with you!

Not only did we see fun countries, but we also found some fantastic CHARACTERS!!!!

Here is me with Mulan in China:

She's asking me if I can hear better with my large ears
I asked her about Mushu, and she said he was playing Hide and Seek with her
Pose for the camera!

We also ran in Aurora (Sleeping Beauty):

Talking about me being in the college program - I have an "I'm Celebrating!" button on my purse strap that says "Disney College Program" on it!
Going in for the hug!
Cheesin' for the camera
Strike a pose!

And although I didn't get a picture of Canada, I DID manage to snap a picture of my new absolute favorite dessert in the history of desserts!!!

Behold........the Croissant Doughnut!!!!! And it's COVERED in cinnamon and sugar.....my tastebuds were in HEAVEN!!!

If you EVER get a chance to try one, TAKE IT! Especially when it's nice and hot. This definitely beat out the Krispy Kreme donuts when the red HOT sign is on.

After I came back down from my sugar high, we went over to see who was in the attraction "Character Spot." This attraction was renovated I believe last summer. Before you could see who was visiting. Now you definitely can't. Which is fine, because it should always be 3 of the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto). Daisy might stop by sometimes, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Anyway.....we decided to wait since it was only a 15-minute way (which ended up being a little longer that that). SOO WORTH IT THOUGH!!!

I met:

The boss man himself, Mr. Mickey Mouse!
Goofy dishing out the hugs
He bowed to me....I panicked because I didn't know how to respond to it....so I bowed back haha
What a fine gentleman Goofy is!
Something was funny I suppose haha
And last, but certainly not least, I met Minnie Mouse. I showed her my tattoo of her, and she LOVED IT!

So that was our wonderful journey around EPCOT. Next up is a small look at Hollywood Studios!

Stay tuned!
