Not exactly excited....
Off-white shirt, brown pants, black belt, black socks, and black shoes (shoes shown later)
Ok, so adding the apron and hat makes it a little better...
Close up of the front of my apron and my hat
I'm hoping I can wear my hair like this, because otherwise I look bald hahaha
I was able to get my shoes yesterday. The best part about them? They were FREE! All Food and Beverage roles (along with a couple other roles) receive free shoes and free replacements if needed. Other roles, like Attractions and Lifeguarding, had to buy their own shoes (and they're not cheap...anywhere from $35-$45+)!
Here are my shoes:
Brand new, right out of the bag/box!

WOOHOO! Free is always a plus!
Alright, so to tell you a little bit about my day today. It was my first long day at my work location. I wasn't able to go to the actual restaurant, but we were able to tour the entire resort area and check out everything that is offered at the Contemporary. I also learned four new fun/interesting facts about the location that I didn't know before!
Fun/Interesting Facts:
1) The Contemporary is one of the first of two resorts to be built at Walt Disney World. Walt himself actually had a hand in the process of creating it!
2) Richard Nixon gave his "I am not a crook" speech in one of the Ballrooms of the Americas inside the Contemporary.
3) Cinderella's Suite (located INSIDE Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom) is actually a part of the Contemporary, and if anyone is ever lucky/rich enough to stay there, they book it through the Contemporary!
And last but not least...
4) I found out today that my step-dad's parents, Papaw and Memaw Ellis, my step-dad, and my step-dad's brother, Uncle Mark, ALL stayed at the Contemporary for WDW's very first Christmas!!!!!!!!!!! How I had not heard about this before today, I'll never know!!!! Probably the single greatest fact I've learned since being here.
Here are some more fun/interesting facts for your reading pleasure:
+Walt Disney World is 41-43 (I've heard both) sqaure MILES. That's approximately the size of the island of Manhattan.
+Animal Kingdom is so large that all three parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios) can fit inside it!
+Originally, WDW was supposed to simply be called "Disney World," but when Walt died two months after they made plans to create it, his brother, Roy E. Disney, chose to name the park Walt Disney World in remembrance of his brother.
+Disney was almost taken over TWICE in the 80s. If the companies trying to take it over had succeeded, who knows where everything Disney would be today.
+Disney owns so many companies: ESPN, the History Channel, ABC Network, the Lifetime Channel, Lucasfilms, etc. Here's a link to everything Disney owns.
DCP fun/interesting facts:
+For everyone ONE college student that is accepted into the program, THIRTY-TWO are turned away!
+More than 30,000 college students apply each year
