As A Specimen, Yes I'm Intimidating... (Beauty and the Beast)

SOOOOOOO last week I decided to go to Magic Kingdom and do a little character hunting. At first, I was on my own for said hunt, but two wonderful friends joined me later.

"Hello, Magic Kingdom" selfie!

To start, I went to the Princess Fairytale Hall, and on my way there, I saw Cinderella's evil step-sisters, Anastasia and Drizela:

Look who' autograph books they just happen to be signing!!! Little Cinderellas!

I waited maybe 40 minutes to meet Cinderella and Rapunzel at the PFH. Thank goodness I'm not a huge Frozen fan (gasp! I know....) because this was the line to meet Anna and Elsa:

It was also outside, whereas the line I was in wasn't!

Here's what the PFH looks like on the inside:

Princess Aurora
Princess Jasmine
Princess Tiana
Princess Mulan
Princess Snow White
The best of them all, PRINCESS RAPUNZEL!

Before you go into the designated areas to meet the princesses you're in line for, you come to the end of the "hallway" and find yourself looking at Cinderella's glass slipper inside a glass case:

Tell me that's not fabulous!!!!

It was finally my turn!!! Cinderella could have been a little cheerier. Every single face character I've come into contact with has engaged me in conversation before posing for a picture. Cinderella just posed. Whatevs! That just means I get to go find a new Cinderella and take even more pictures!!

Rapunzel was SOOOOO worth a wait and thank goodness, because she is absolutely, without a doubt, my FAVORITE PRINCESS EVER!!!!!

See what I mean about engaging??? She chatted with me about my favorite part from her movie (I panicked and said that it was when she was playing Hide and Seek with Pascal), so we talked about where our favorite hiding places were. Mine was under the bed, hers was in a closet. She told me she would remember me because she wanted me to come play Hide and Seek with her and Pascal sometime......the little girl in me could have died right then and there and would have been COMPLETELY content!!!!!

She's amazing!

Anyway!!! On to the next AMAZING character meet and greet!

I decided it was time to get new pictures with the one and only (yes, he's the only one if you didn't already know) TIGGER!!!!

I go to their meeting place. I say "their" because Winnie the Pooh tags along with Tigger for meet and greets, so it's like a two-for-one kind of deal!

So I'm waiting in line and my room roommate (ya know, the one I share a room with) texts me asking if I want to ride Mine Train (she was working/in training this day). What kind of question is that?! If anyone turns down a ride on Mine Train, there better be a good reason, like a Code V (use your imagination for what that V stands for)! I go to meet her at the front gate of the ride, and we both thought that her trainer was going to let her ride with me, but sadly that wasn't the case.....

I rode it by myself, but who cares?? IT'S MINE TRAIN!!!! I'd ride it a million times by myself!

After I got off the ride, I get BACK in line to meet Mr. Tigger himself. By this time, my friend from home (who is also in the program) finally makes it to Magic Kingdom and wants to meet up! I tell her where I am, and she joins me in line!

Here's the wonderous pictures we captured with the duo from the Hundred Acre Woods:

EASILY the best picture I could ever have taken.....this is what pure joy looks like people!
Actually....this is just me awkwardly hugging Tigger. I don't remember exactly how it happened, but he went in for a hug, I may have misread the "hug" signal and dodged it, but the outcome was fantastic! I wouldn't trade this picture for ANYTHING!
Had to get Pooh Bear in there!

Next, we went over to Gaston's Tavern to meet up with Gaston. Our group of two finally turned into a group of three when my other friend showed up just in time to meet him!

Now I'm pretty sure I mentioned before that I went to a meet and greet for Gaston with a group of other friends, but I didn't get any pictures with him because he was pretty intimidating? Yea, that hasn't changed one bit....

When I first walked up to him.....
...he started to make me blush by asking if I was using the College Program as an excuse just to come see him.
(Photopass Picture): The look of intimidation on my face is priceless.....
(Photopass Picture): Here he is yelling to the entire crowd to NOT LOOK AT ME because it's making me blush........not helping, Gaston.
(Photopass Picture): We finally pose for a picture!

We were finally able to leave Gaston's charming good looks and headed into his Tavern for a little Lefou's Brew (don't worry!!! It's just frozen apple juice with a passion fruit whipped topping....very tasty!):

We hung out in Gaston's chair while we sipped our brews:

He uses antlers in all of his decorating!
My feet barely touched the floor. Can you say "over-sized chair"?

We decided that Ariel would be the next character on our list to meet, so we walked over to her Grotto. We waited for about 30-45 mintues....not ideal, but hey! It's Ariel!

She was AMAZING! She called me her long lost "A" sister because both of our names start with the letter A! AHHH! Amazing!!

Chattin' it up with Ariel!

By now, there aren't many characters out doing meet and greets, so my friend tells us that we need to go get "pixie dusted." That sounds dangerous, I know! BUT it's the exact opposite! You go to the Fairy Godmothers-in-training and they sprinkle Pixie Dust on your head so that all of your wishes may come true, just like Cinderella's! I took a picture of my hair, but I really don't think the glitter, I MEAN, Pixie Dust, shows up too well:

After this, "our trio's down to two." (Name that movie for awesome sauce points!!!) One of my friends decided to head home for dinner. I don't blame her. The prices for food can be pretty expensive, and we cast members don't always get discounts everywhere we want to eat.

Jess and I chose to eat at Pecos Bills. YUM!! I will definitely go back for the pulled pork kids sandwich (Hey, I'm a 10-year-old stuck in a 24-year-old's body.....don't judge!!).

Now we decide to ride some rides!!!! I had never ridden the Teacups (gasp again!....I know. I've never ridden Dumbo either...just give it time!), so we go and ride it! It was super dizzy-ing!

We also went into the Christmas store they have in Magic Kingdom (before going to eat). We got out picture taken on Santa's Sleigh:

We also saw bunnies and duckies on our way over to Tomorrowland!

I know they're hard to see, but trust me. They're there. Look along the bottom of the bushes and towards the center of the picture in the distance.

While in Tomorrowland, Jess and I visited the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. It has been a dream of mine (ok, not really a dream, but it's on my Disney Bucket List) to be a part of a show, no matter how small. My dream finally came true!!! One of the monsters asked a little girl in the audience if she had ever seen a human with four ears before. The little girl said no, and then the camera panned to YOURS TRULY!!!!! I had worn my Minnie Mouse into the theater, and the monsters had taken notice!!! It was funny!

Next, we fought Emperor Zurg in Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

That's a look of determination, not fear!

And as we were leaving the park to go home, we ran into the Electrical Parade, and I was finally able to capture of picture of my step-dad's FAVORITE DRAGON, Elliott from Pete's Dragon. Pete was even riding on Elliott's back!

On the monorail ride back to the parking lot, so many people were asking who that dragon was. Some people honestly thought it was Puff the Magic Dragon. Ummmmmm sorry but no. I ended up telling them who it really was. Terry would be so proud of me!! :)

Well, that's all I have to share for tonight. Stay tuned for another blog post possibly coming tomorrow or the next day!!!

Goodnight!

I'm Only A Little Black Rain Cloud, Pay No Attention To Little Me... (Winnie the Pooh)

I was fortunate enough to take this gorgeous panoramic picture today while at Magic Kingdom. This was about 15 minutes before the skies opened up and rain started POURING down (thankfully I had made it Pirates of the Caribbean before getting soaked!):

They Show Aristocratic Bearing When Whey're Seen... (The Aristocats)

The reason behind this title is because I couldn't find any other song that had to do with Hollywood (that was a Disney song), so this seemed to work since Hollywood is a richy-rich place and Aristocrats are rich lol (just go with it haha)

My roommates and one of my roommate's friends went to Hollywood Studios one evening and we had an awesome time!

As soon as we walked through the entrance gate, we went straight for Tower of Terror (MY FAVORITE RIDE!!!).

We didn't have to wait too long (maybe 30 minutes) before we were finally loaded onto the service elevator and hoisted up a few floors only to be plummeted to the ground faster than the speed of gravity (yes, the "elevator" is actually pulled down. It's not an actual free fall).

Here is our picture from the first time we rode it (we're all in the front row):

After we got off that ride, we went over to Rock'n'Rollercoaster (my second favorite ride!!!):

At one point, my two tallest roommates were standing in front of me, and I literally felt like I was standing behind a wall (they're BOTH 6 ft tall!!):

I was eye leverl with their shoulders.....yea hahaha

Here's our (blurry) pictures from our first time riding it:

Obviously since my picture turned out blurry, we had to ride it again so I could get a better picture, but that comes a little later in our day!

Next up, STAR WARS: STAR TOURS! (My sister-in-law, brother, and nephew would be so proud that I rode this ride!)

They give you fancy 3-D glasses for the ride:

Fancy stuff, I know!

Once we got off that ride, we had about 30-45 minutes until the park closed, so we ran back to Tower of Terror. Here's our picture from the second ride:

The little boy in red beside me was so precious. He was telling me what all I should expect to happen on the ride and that it was ok if I wanted to scream. So adorable!!!!

We were also able to make it onto the Rock'n'Rollercoaster one more time (YES!), so here's our pictures for that:

I swear my roommate loves me.....I was just trying to sleep!

I'm planning to go back to Hollywood Studios again on my next day off so I can see more things and hopefully ride more rides!!

I have two more blog posts brewing in my head, but I am getting tired! I promise to blog again soon!

A World Without Fences, Where I Can Run Free... (Lady and the Tramp)

Guys, I am SO sorry that I haven't posted in a while! I have been super busy training with my work and hanging out at the parks on my days off! Let's catch you up with all the things that I've been up to, shall we?

Alright...so last time we spoke (well, I typed and you read), I told you all about my work costume (aka uniform). Well, that definitely hasn't changed haha I'm still wearing the Newsie style hat and fabulous apron.

What HAS changed is my training! I have trained two days in Expo. Expo is just where we tray up the food that has been ordered by guests and then prepared by the chefs. Super simple (at least for me since I do that at Olive Garden at home sometimes).

And then there's the cash register........

Let me just say that whoever designed the Contempo Cafe didn't exactly think everything through.

First, the guests are prompted to order via the touch screen kiosks located against the far wall of our restaurant (to the right as soon as you walk inside). Some families don't realize that you can order everyone's meals on ONE kiosk, so they decide to order all individual meals on different kiosks. This is fine and dandy....until they come to the register to pay.

When they come to the register to pay for 2+ meals, and they hand me 2+ pieces of paper that the kiosks printed off for them, I can only scan ONE of them and then punch in everything else....which in turn completely defeats the purpose of the kiosks in the first place.

Also, another problem with the kiosks. They don't allow guests to add or remove items from what they are ordering. For example, if I am ordering a Turkey BLT (which is AMAZING, by the way!) and I don't want the tomato, the kiosk doesn't give me the option to ask for no tomato. I am supposed to automatically know to take my receipt to the cast member standing by the counter and tell them that I want no tomato so they can yell into the kitchen at the chefs so they make it correctly. Makes zero sense, right? Yeah, I know haha.a

THEN there's the Dining Plans. Thankfully they're not as hard to figure out as I had anticipated. BUT, before I can scan or punch anything into the computer, I have to make sure that each person in a party that is on the dining plan has everything they need. Every adult on a dining plan must pick up a dessert and a drink. Kid's meals come with their desserts and drinks, so they don't have to worry about those. BUUUUT some parents think that because they ordered a cookie for their child's meal that they have to get one of the giant cookies out of the bakery case. This isn't true. The children's cookie comes out with their meal.

Like I said, there are a few kinks, but they've survived this long! They must be doing something right!

Now, to finally get down to the part that is the reason for why I named this post what I named it (does that sentence make any sense?? Because writing it made it seem extremely complicated! haha)

On Friday, my room roommate (the one I share a room with), Justine, and I decided to venture to EPCOT to ride some rides and tour the World Showcase.

We had so much fun seeing all of the different countries that are represented there. I took a few pictures to share with you guys!

Mexico
Norway
More of Norway
China
Germany
One of my favorites, Italy
More of Italy
Japan
Morocco
France
United Kingdom

I didn't get pictures of the good ol' US of A (I figured the majority of you who read this would know what that looks like), nor did I get Canada, but that's okay! I have tons of time to get pictures of them to share with you!

Not only did we see fun countries, but we also found some fantastic CHARACTERS!!!!

Here is me with Mulan in China:

She's asking me if I can hear better with my large ears
I asked her about Mushu, and she said he was playing Hide and Seek with her
Pose for the camera!

We also ran in Aurora (Sleeping Beauty):

Talking about me being in the college program - I have an "I'm Celebrating!" button on my purse strap that says "Disney College Program" on it!
Going in for the hug!
Cheesin' for the camera
Strike a pose!

And although I didn't get a picture of Canada, I DID manage to snap a picture of my new absolute favorite dessert in the history of desserts!!!

Behold........the Croissant Doughnut!!!!! And it's COVERED in cinnamon and sugar.....my tastebuds were in HEAVEN!!!

If you EVER get a chance to try one, TAKE IT! Especially when it's nice and hot. This definitely beat out the Krispy Kreme donuts when the red HOT sign is on.

After I came back down from my sugar high, we went over to see who was in the attraction "Character Spot." This attraction was renovated I believe last summer. Before you could see who was visiting. Now you definitely can't. Which is fine, because it should always be 3 of the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto). Daisy might stop by sometimes, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Anyway.....we decided to wait since it was only a 15-minute way (which ended up being a little longer that that). SOO WORTH IT THOUGH!!!

I met:

The boss man himself, Mr. Mickey Mouse!
Goofy dishing out the hugs
He bowed to me....I panicked because I didn't know how to respond to it....so I bowed back haha
What a fine gentleman Goofy is!
Something was funny I suppose haha
And last, but certainly not least, I met Minnie Mouse. I showed her my tattoo of her, and she LOVED IT!

So that was our wonderful journey around EPCOT. Next up is a small look at Hollywood Studios!

Stay tuned!
