As many of you may know already, I applied and have been accepted into the Disney College Program! I cannot wait! I will be going down to Florida on August 4th (exactly 5 months from tomorrow!!) and I will stay down there until January 7th!
For those of you that have no idea about the Disney College Program, it is an awesome paid internship where college students work at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland for a certain amount of months. You can work as anything, such as a character (you must attend an audition for them though), ride operators, restaurant workers, janitors, mousekeepers (what they call their housekeeping staff), etc. I will be working as a Quick-Service Food and Beverage person. My duties could include anything from working in a kitchen preparing food, plating prepared food, taking orders from customers, handling money, or even working one of the snack carts that people see throughout the parks! Unfortunately, I don't know where I will be working yet. I will find that out when I get down there.
As for my living arrangements, I will be staying in an apartment complex with anywhere between 1 and 7 other girls as my roommates! Yes, you read that correctly. EIGHT girls in one apartment. There are two girls per bedroom in each apartment, but they all must share a living room and the kitchen. Can you imagine 8 people sharing a refrigerator? Fortunately, Disney sends out a form via e-mail called DORMS for everyone to fill out their preference of living. You can choose how many people you would like to live with, if there is anyone you prefer to live with (if your friends are there with you), and which apartment building you prefer to live in. I don't care who I live with, I just hope they're nice and not people who leave everything a mess.
Well, that's really all I have so far. I'll probably post more if and when I hear more. As it gets closer, I'll begin to post things, such as what I'm packing and whatnot :)
